Diabetes-Related Wellness & Recovery Support

Diabetes-Related Wellness & Recovery Support

Duration:
10 minutes

Purpose

This Touch is designed to support relaxation, emotional balance, sensory quieting, decompression, and recovery-state wellness for members managing the daily demands associated with diabetes.

Living with an ongoing health condition may involve stress, interrupted sleep, emotional fatigue, physical discomfort, and the need to maintain consistent daily routines. This Touch provides a quiet opportunity to relax, settle the body, and step away from the mental and emotional demands of the day.

This is a wellness-support experience. It does not affect the need for glucose monitoring, medication, insulin, nutrition, exercise, wound care, or medical supervision.

Best Time to Use

This Touch may be used during:

  • Evening decompression
  • A quiet recovery or rest period
  • Meditation
  • Post-stress relaxation
  • Pre-sleep calming

Choose a time when you can rest without interruption and do not need to remain alert for driving, cooking, walking, or other activities requiring your full attention.

Before You Begin

Continue your normal diabetes-care routine before, during, and after using this Touch.

Before beginning:

  • Follow your usual glucose-monitoring schedule.
  • Take insulin and medications exactly as prescribed.
  • Keep any supplies normally required for your diabetes care readily available.
  • Do not delay eating, medication, monitoring, or other scheduled care in order to complete the Touch.
  • Use the Touch only when you feel medically stable and able to rest comfortably.

This Touch should never replace or postpone attention to a glucose concern or other medical symptom.

Environment and Positioning

Choose a quiet, low-stimulation environment.

Sit in a supported chair or rest in a comfortable reclined position. Your feet may be elevated if this is comfortable, medically appropriate, and consistent with the guidance you have received from your healthcare professional.

Play the Touch at a very low to low volume. The sound should remain gentle and comfortable throughout the session.

How to Experience This Touch

Allow your body to settle naturally.

You do not need to concentrate on the audio, visualize an outcome, or try to create a particular response. Simply rest and notice your breathing, comfort, and overall sense of calm.

If desired, use this gentle breathing rhythm:

  • Inhale comfortably for approximately four seconds.
  • Exhale gently for approximately six seconds.

Never hold, force, or strain your breath. Return to your normal breathing pattern immediately if the suggested rhythm feels uncomfortable, tiring, or unnatural.

What to Observe

Before and after the session, notice any changes in:

  • Overall calmness
  • Emotional balance
  • Mental quiet
  • Physical comfort
  • Sensory comfort
  • Stress level
  • Body relaxation
  • Readiness for rest

The purpose of observation is simply to help you recognize your own experience. It is not a substitute for glucose monitoring or medical assessment.
