Set aside these twelve minutes as a peaceful pause in your day. There is nothing you need to accomplish—only an opportunity to relax, breathe comfortably, and allow your body and mind to experience a quiet moment of calm recovery.
Purpose
This Touch is designed to support relaxation, emotional calming, sensory quieting, recovery-state wellness, and peaceful transitions for individuals living with Parkinson's disease or other neurological movement challenges.
Living with Parkinson's may bring physical, emotional, and daily life challenges that can affect comfort, rest, and overall well-being. This Touch provides an opportunity to slow down, relax, and create a peaceful environment that supports moments of calm and restoration.
This is a wellness-support experience intended to complement ongoing medical care and healthy daily routines.
Best Time to Use
Many members and care partners choose to use this Touch during:
- Evening relaxation
- Recovery periods throughout the day
- Times of increased stress or sensory overload
- Before bedtime
- Quiet moments dedicated to rest and relaxation
Choose a time when you can remain comfortably supported without interruption.
Before You Begin
Before beginning your session:
- Continue all prescribed medications and therapies exactly as directed.
- Follow your normal daily care routine.
- Allow yourself a few quiet moments to become comfortable before pressing Play.
- If assistance is needed for seating or positioning, have a care partner help you become comfortable before beginning.
This Touch is intended to complement your wellness routine and should never replace prescribed medical care.
Environment and Positioning
For the most comfortable experience:
- Choose a quiet, familiar, low-stimulation environment.
- Sit in a well-supported chair or rest in a comfortable reclined position.
- Play the Touch at very low to low volume.
Minimize distractions whenever possible to encourage a peaceful experience.
How to Experience This Touch
There is nothing you need to accomplish during this session.
Simply allow yourself to become comfortable and let the Touch become part of a quiet moment of rest.
Some members find it helpful to close their eyes, while others prefer simply to sit quietly and breathe naturally.
If comfortable, practice gentle breathing:
- Inhale slowly for approximately four seconds.
- Exhale gently for approximately six seconds.
- Never force or strain your breathing. Return to your normal breathing whenever you wish.
