Overview
This QHS Post-Operation / Post-Surgery Calm, Rest & Recovery Support Protocol is a controlled wellness-support audio session intended to support calm breathing, rest preparation, emotional reassurance, sensory quieting, and recovery-state relaxation after general surgery or medically supervised procedures.

This protocol is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, reverse, or manage surgical pain, post-operative complications, infection, bleeding, wound healing, anesthesia effects, inflammation, or any medical condition. The surgeon, anesthesiology team, nursing team, discharge instructions, prescribed medication plan, and emergency guidance remain primary at all times.

Medical Primacy And Post-Op Safety Notice

Post-operative recovery can involve medication timing, anesthesia after-effects, mobility limits, wound care, hydration limits, nutrition instructions, blood clot precautions, respiratory exercises, infection monitoring, and surgical follow-up. This audio file must never interfere with medical instructions, medication timing, wound care, breathing exercises, mobility orders, or communication with the care team.
 
  • Do not use this file to delay contacting the surgeon, nurse line, urgent care, or emergency services.
  • Do not use headphones if they interfere with hearing instructions, alarms, family assistance, staff directions, or safety cues.
  • Do not use while walking, bathing, using stairs, driving, operating equipment, or taking medication unless safely supervised.
  • Do not use to mask severe pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, confusion, heavy bleeding, worsening swelling, calf pain, new neurologic symptoms, or any urgent concern.

Event-Based Use Schedule

Facility / recovery room use - Only if permitted by staff and only when the user can still hear and respond to instructions.

Day of surgery after discharge - 1 session during a safe rest period if alert enough, comfortable, and supervised if needed.

First 72 hours after surgery - 1 session daily for rest preparation or calming; optional second session only if well tolerated and separated by at least 6 hours.

Days 4-14 after surgery - Use 1 session daily as needed for rest and relaxation while following the surgical recovery plan.

Maximum use - No more than 2 sessions in one day unless specifically cleared and clearly tolerated.
 
  • Do not loop continuously;
  • Do not play overnight on repeat;
  • Do not use during medication instruction,
  • Do not use during wound-care instruction,
  • Do not  use during active mobility training, discharge review, or urgent symptoms.

Combining With Other QHS TOUCH Files

Do not play two Touches at the same time.

  • During the first 72 hours after surgery, use this post-op file only if your surgical/care team approve.
  • After 72 hours, general Morning / Anytime / Evening Touch may be used only if separated by at least 6 hours and if it does not disrupt medication timing, sleep, hydration, or recovery instructions.
  • Avoid stacking with strong musculoskeletal, inflammation, detox, deep sleep, brain, or trauma files during early post-op recovery unless clearly authorized and tolerated.
  • If fatigue, dizziness, medication confusion, nausea, headache, sensory overload, or sleep disruption occurs, reduce to one QHS TOUCH audio session per day or pause.

Recommended Use Conditions

  • Use at low volume only.
  • Use while reclined or seated safely.
  • Keep a caregiver, phone, call button, or assistance option available when appropriate.
  • Do not use if groggy, confused, or unable to respond to safety instructions.
  • Do not use during medication review, wound-care instruction, discharge instructions, breathing-device instruction, or mobility instruction.
  • Stop immediately if it increases nausea, dizziness, agitation, headache, confusion, discomfort, or sensory pressure.

Post-Op Tracking Notes
 
  • Date and time used.
  • Surgery/procedure type if voluntarily noted.
  • Post-op day number.
  • Comfort/rest level before and after, using a private 0-10 scale.
  • Sleep quality after use.
  • Medication timing was not disrupted.
  • Hydration/nutrition instructions followed.
  • Any reason to pause or contact the care team.
